Frequently asked questions about internships

Internships are offered at various locations depending on the department. They are mainly based at our administrative sites in Espelkamp and Lübbecke, with additional opportunities in Hamburg or Magstadt. The exact location is coordinated with you based on your field of interest and the role.

A student internship usually lasts at least three months. For mandatory internships with a shorter duration, suitable arrangements can be made individually. Longer periods are also possible if they can be integrated into your studies.

Applications are submitted online via the “Apply” button in the respective job advertisement on our job portal . If no suitable position is available, you can also submit a speculative application. For organisational reasons, applications by email or post for student internships cannot be considered.

A complete application should include a CV, a short cover letter, your most recent certificates and an up-to-date transcript of records. All documents should be uploaded as a single PDF file with a maximum size of 25 MB.

After reviewing your application, you will usually be invited to an initial interview or video call with the department and HR. You will then receive prompt feedback on the next steps. Our aim is a transparent, straightforward and personal selection process.
