Apprenticeship in technical and industrial fields

As an Electronics Technician – Devices and Systems, you assemble, test and commission electronic assemblies and devices. You identify faults, carry out repairs and document your measurement results. The role combines technical expertise with responsibility – from circuit design to final testing – at the interface between development, production and service.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn the fundamentals of electronics, measurement and testing, as well as soldering and manufacturing techniques. As you gain experience, you will take on your own tasks in testing and quality assurance – laying the foundation for a career in development, production or service.

As an Electronics Technician – Energy and Building Systems, you install, wire and test electrical components and systems. You ensure that machines and equipment function reliably and can be operated safely.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn the fundamentals of electrical engineering, complemented by measurement and testing techniques, documentation and safety regulations. You will also gain initial insights into automation and control systems. Your work ranges from production to maintenance – with responsibility for quality, efficiency and safety.

As a Warehouse Logistics Specialist, you ensure that goods, materials and products are in the right place at the right time. You handle goods receipt and dispatch, pick and pack orders, prepare shipments and maintain an overview of inventory and quality at all times.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn about warehouse processes, load securing and occupational safety. You will work with modern industrial trucks and digital logistics systems, playing a key role in ensuring smooth material flow.

As an Industrial Electronics Technician – Devices and Systems, you assemble, wire and test electrical components and assemblies, ensuring that systems and equipment are always ready for operation. You support commissioning and maintenance work and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards through careful inspections.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn the fundamentals of electrical engineering, how to use measurement and testing equipment, and how to create technical documentation. You will become familiar with safety regulations for electrical work and gain initial insights into automation and control technology – developing into a specialist who reliably combines technology, precision and safety.

Apprenticeship in service roles

As a Customer Relationship Management Specialist, you ensure that our guests feel completely at ease and enjoy a smooth gaming experience. You look after and maintain entertainment and gaming machines, ensuring they operate reliably at all times. You explain games, act as a point of contact for any questions, and also take care of service tasks such as offering drinks. In addition, you install, inspect and carry out basic maintenance work. In this role, you combine technology, service and organisation with hands-on experience and a variety of tasks.

During your apprenticeship, you will gain in-depth knowledge of machines, legal principles, and service processes, as well as fundamental skills in electrical engineering and mechanics. Through close interaction with guests and your team, you actively contribute to ensuring that everyone feels well looked after and that operations run smoothly.

As a Cook, you prepare meals, manage stock and ensure smooth operations in the kitchen. You follow HACCP hygiene standards, contribute to menu planning and are also involved in events and catering.

During your apprenticeship, you will gain knowledge in kitchen organisation, food science and cost calculation, complemented by teamwork and service orientation. In this way, you develop into a creative professional with a passion for quality and taste.

As a Hospitality Management Specialist, you look after guests, organise events and work across both hospitality and hotel operations. You handle billing tasks and back-office activities while ensuring professional service.

Your apprenticeship provides you with strong communication and service skills, complemented by knowledge of food and beverage preparation, housekeeping and billing systems. The role offers a wide variety of tasks – from guest interaction and event management to organising daily hotel operations.

Apprenticeship in commercial roles

During your apprenticeship as a Customer Relationship Management Specialist, you communicate with customers via phone, email or chat. You document enquiries, arrange appointments and support campaigns. The role combines a strong service mindset with communication skills and has a direct impact on customer satisfaction.

You will learn how to work with CRM systems, develop your time and self-management skills and grow into a reliable point of contact in customer service.

As a Freight Forwarding and Logistics Specialist, you plan and manage transport operations in both national and international contexts. You communicate with freight forwarders, customers and internal departments, prepare shipping and customs documents and ensure smooth supply chain processes.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn about transport and customs processes, communication and IT-supported workflows – taking responsibility for timely and secure deliveries.

As a Technical Draftsman – Construction, you create and maintain plans and detailed drawings and support construction and refurbishment projects. You coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure precision throughout all planning phases.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn CAD fundamentals, technical standards and documentation processes. Your work forms the basis for successful construction projects and sustainable building management.

As a Media Designer – Digital and Print, you develop design concepts for print and digital media, edit images, create layouts and support the entire production process. You contribute to campaigns and brand communication and implement projects in line with corporate design guidelines.

During your apprenticeship, you will work with tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, while developing your skills in data handling, typography and UX design.

As a Real Estate Specialist, you manage, lease and administer property portfolios. You coordinate service providers, support tenants and manage contracts. The apprenticeship provides you with knowledge of real estate management, legal principles, cost calculation and the use of property management software.

You will learn to take responsibility for properties and costs, contributing to efficient building management.

As an Industrial Management Assistant, you work across various commercial departments such as Purchasing, Sales, Human Resources and Controlling. You process offers, orders and invoices and collaborate closely with multiple teams.

During your apprenticeship, you will gain insight into commercial processes, ERP-based workflows and communication techniques. This gives you a comprehensive understanding of value creation within the company – the ideal foundation for your career.

Apprenticeship in IT

As an IT Systems Administrator, you ensure that IT systems run reliably. You set up networks, manage servers and support colleagues with technical queries.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn about hardware and software installation, network technology, IT security and automation. You will also work with ITIL processes and troubleshooting, becoming an important interface within IT operations.

As a Software Developer, you develop and optimise software solutions and tools, test applications and document results. You work within the central IT environment of an international group and take on responsibility in exciting projects from an early stage.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn programming languages such as ABAP, Java, PHP, HTML or JavaScript, as well as modern software engineering methods – laying the foundation for a career in software development or technical project management.

As an IT Systems Management Specialist, you analyse requirements, select suitable IT solutions and support their implementation. You assist users, compare offers and work in supplier management.

During your apprenticeship, you will gain insight into IT processes, product knowledge, support and communication. You act as the link between technology and commercial processes – an ideal foundation for a career in corporate IT.

Frequently asked questions about the apprenticeship

Applying is easy – simply use the “Apply” button in the respective job advertisement on our job portal . There you will find all current apprenticeship programmes and dual study programmes.

A complete application should include a CV, a short cover letter and your two most recent school reports. All documents should be uploaded as a PDF file (max. 25 MB).

After submitting your application, you will first receive a confirmation. This is followed by an online test. Successful candidates are then invited to an assessment centre or a trial working day. The final step is a personal interview, where both sides get to know each other.

There are no fixed application deadlines. You can apply at any time as long as the apprenticeship positions are advertised. Multiple applications for different apprenticeship programmes or locations within the MERKUR GROUP are explicitly allowed.
