In the Dual Study Programme – Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an additional focus on the vending industry, you combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience in an international group of companies. You deepen your expertise in your chosen specialisation – for example in Business Management, International Business, Business Psychology or Sales Management. During your three-year programme at the FHDW University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, as well as during practical phases in Espelkamp and Lübbecke, you build a strong foundation in business administration and develop your knowledge individually.
In practice, you will gain insights into departments such as Financial Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, Controlling or Project Management. You will work on your own projects, take part in trade fairs and take on varied responsibilities that give you a comprehensive understanding of business processes. After completing your degree, a wide range of career opportunities will be open to you – for example in junior or specialist roles.
In the Dual Study Programme – Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Vending Management, you prepare for a career in a globally oriented environment. During your three-year programme at the FHDW University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, as well as your practical phases in Lübbecke, you gain in-depth insights into commercial management within the financial environment.

Alongside theoretical foundations in computer science, programming, IT security and business administration, you work on hands-on projects – for example implementing new security solutions or analysing technical risks. This enables you to develop a deep understanding of business processes and information systems in modern industrial companies. After completing your degree, you can take on responsible roles in areas such as IT security, network administration or security management.
In the Dual Study Programme – Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics – IT Consulting, you combine technical expertise with business consulting skills. Theoretical phases at the FHDW University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld and practical assignments in Espelkamp provide you with in-depth knowledge of digital business processes, IT systems and project management.
During your practical phases, you will work in both SAP and non-SAP environments, support IT projects and assist with the implementation of new software solutions. Complemented by subjects such as programming, Controlling, IT risk management and marketing, you will develop a versatile skill set. In the Dual Study Programme – Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, you combine solid theoretical knowledge with hands-on software development. At Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI), Campus Minden, you study for seven semesters, alternating between around three months of academic study per semester and several months of practical experience in Lübbecke. This creates a structured combination of theory and practice.
During your practical phases, you will work across various IT areas – from developing gaming machines for the German and international markets to server-based gaming, as well as quality assurance and hardware development. You will be involved in real projects, work with modern technologies and gradually build a broad technical understanding. After completing your degree, a wide range of career paths will be open to you – for example in software development, DevOps or IT security.

Yes. Depending on your field of study, it may be possible to have previously completed study or training content recognised within the dual study programme. The decision is made by the respective university on a case-by-case basis.
The MERKUR GROUP assesses individually whether support for a desired dual study programme is possible and whether the required content can be covered. As a rule, dual study opportunities are advertised directly on our careers website in cooperation with our partner universities.
Generally, a university entrance qualification (A-levels or equivalent) is required for admission to the partner university (e.g. FHDW Bielefeld). An interest in business and/or IT topics, as well as the willingness to combine theory and practice, is also beneficial.
The programme usually starts in the winter semester (e.g. September). The standard duration is typically three years, combining academic study with practical phases.
