Welcome-Day 2026

The time had come – an invitation had arrived in the post for our future apprentices and dual-study students. 📫 To give the future apprentices and dual-study students the chance to get to know one another before they officially started, the MERKUR GROUP organised a get-together on 29 May 2026.

The MERKUR GROUP had come up with something special for the occasion: farmer’s golf. This relaxed team activity provided the perfect opportunity to get to know one another in an informal atmosphere and to make their first friends even before their first day at work. At 3.30 pm, all the participants met at the Rose Inn.

A total of 50 people attended – including:

- 33 new apprentices and students

- 10 trainers

- 7 apprentices from different years of training

Armed with handcarts, cold drinks and the right bats, the teams made their way from station to station. Of course, everyone was playing to win, but the main focus was on camaraderie, lots of good conversation and plenty of fun. New friendships were quickly formed and the initial nervousness gave way to a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere.
After around two hours of play, the winning teams were delighted to receive small prizes such as fishing hats, bum bags and socks. Afterwards, everyone rounded off the day with a dinner together at the Rose Inn. There was plenty of laughter, with everyone chuckling at the odd missed shot and sharing the stories. By the end, nobody felt like a stranger anymore – instead, a genuine sense of community had already developed.

It was events like these that made joining the MERKUR GROUP so special. The future apprentices and dual students got to know their colleagues even before their first day at work. This made the start of this new chapter in their lives much easier, and everyone was able to feel part of the team right from day one.
