What does day-to-day life in our MERKUR branches actually look like? That’s exactly what every apprentice gets to find out for themselves during the Spielo Live assignment.

The Spielo Live assignment is a fixed part of the apprenticeship at the MERKUR GROUP. It gives you the opportunity to look behind the scenes and experience our “end product” – our gaming machines and service offering – first-hand on site.

Instead of just learning theory, you’ll see how everything works in practice. You’ll experience first-hand how our work ultimately reaches the customer.

For example, some of our apprentices have completed their Spielo Live assignment at MERKUR CASINO branches in Lübbecke, Bielefeld, Bad Oeynhausen and Sulingen. They worked there for around two days, covering both early and late shifts.

During this time, they take on a variety of tasks, such as:

• welcoming and checking in guests
• supporting and assisting guests
• cleaning gaming machines
• counting cash in the safes
• and many other interesting responsibilities

This gives you a great insight into just how varied the role really is.

Many apprentices found cash counting particularly exciting, as it comes with a high level of responsibility. But it’s often the smaller, personal moments that stand out too – for example when friends visit you at work or when you gain special insights, such as during technical upgrades.

The feedback is clear: the Spielo Live assignment is very popular with our apprentices. Many say it’s a great experience that helps them gain a deeper understanding of the company.
