What’s it like to help organise a festival as a trainee at the MERKUR GROUP? At this year’s Sputnik Springbreak Festival, we had exactly that opportunity. As part of the MERKUR FESTIVAL CREW, we swapped our everyday training routine for the festival atmosphere and gained exciting insights into the MERKUR festival summer.
Our main task was to look after the MERKUR CLUB CASINO – a popular meeting place on the festival site. Here, all festival-goers could play just for fun and for free – without staking any money. Instead, cool MERKUR festival giveaways awaited the winners of various games.
For us as the Festival Crew, this meant one thing above all: variety. Among other things, we helped run the popular horse race, supervised various hands-on activities at the MERKUR CLUB CASINO and were on hand to assist guests as points of contact. In the process, we got to chat to lots of people and gained valuable experience through direct interaction with festival-goers.
Alongside our duties, there was of course time to enjoy the festival’s special atmosphere. A central meeting point was the Crew Camp. There, we wound down the day together, shared our experiences and got to know each other even better. It quickly became clear just how important team spirit and solidarity are for a successful event. 😊
A particular highlight for many of us was the opportunity to interact with other trainees and colleagues from different areas of the MERKUR GROUP. This led to new connections and fascinating conversations that would probably not have taken place during our day-to-day training.
The overall setting also made the weekend a special experience. Our daily working hours were manageable, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the festival itself. Instead of traditional camping tents, we had comfortable and well-equipped accommodation at our disposal. And even if the nights were sometimes a bit shorter – that’s simply part and parcel of a festival. 🎶
Looking back, our time at the Sputnik Springbreak Festival was the perfect blend of responsibility, teamwork and plenty of festival spirit. We got to know the MERKUR GROUP from a whole new angle, made valuable contacts and discovered just how much fun it is to help shape the MERKUR festival summer together.
