The “HARTING Azubi Cup” is one of the most popular events during the apprenticeship and a real highlight for many apprentices right at the start of their training. Especially if you are new to the MERKUR GROUP, the tournament is the perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow apprentices – in a relaxed, sporty setting and outside of everyday work.
At the “HARTING Azubi Cup”, everything revolves around team spirit, fairness and a passion for sport. In mixed teams, you compete against each other, cheer one another on and quickly grow together as a team. It does not matter whether you already have football experience or simply enjoy being active and spending time with others – everyone can take part and contribute. That is what makes the “HARTING Azubi Cup” so special.
Beyond the matches, connecting with other apprentices is a key part of the experience. You get to know apprentices from different locations and programmes, build new connections and often form friendships that last far beyond the tournament. Especially at the beginning of your apprenticeship, it is a great way to feel part of the team right away.
A particular highlight is the final match at the MERKUR Arena. If your team reaches the final, you will play in a truly special setting. The final takes place between matches of U16 Bundesliga teams, where youth squads from clubs such as FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Borussia Mönchengladbach compete. In recent years, future professionals such as Müller, Reus, Gnabry, Kimmich and most recently Lennard Karl have played here. Stepping onto the pitch in front of trainers, colleagues and a large audience creates unforgettable moments.
What stays with you most is the atmosphere: the team spirit, the excitement of the matches and the feeling of experiencing something special together. You take away not only sporting memories, but also learn how important collaboration, mutual respect and responsibility are – values that will accompany you throughout your career.
The “HARTING Azubi Cup” is therefore much more than a sporting competition. It stands for community, commitment and a strong start to your apprenticeship. Being part of it means starting your training motivated, well connected and with many positive impressions.
