Development, Production, and Distribution of Gaming Machines

This is the core competency of the MERKUR GROUP. Since developing its first own coin-operated gaming machine in 1977, the 'Merkur B', the company has produced over two million devices to date and generated more than 300 own patents.

From once being a manufacturer of classic electric-mechanical reel machines, over the past 60 years, the MERKUR GROUP has evolved into a provider of highly developed multigamers, capable of containing over 270 exciting games.

The hub of development and manufacturing of gaming machines is located in East Westphalia, Lübbecke. Here, in the production plant of adp MERKUR GmbH, all MERKUR multigamers as well as sports betting machines for domestic and international markets are manufactured.

Innovation and design in game development

Innovative products are the basis for MERKUR GROUP's success and the driving force behind its dynamic and consistent growth. To meet the diverse needs of all customers, the group maintains over 10 development studios worldwide.

The core and link of the development sites

... is located in Lübbecke in East Westphalia at adp MERKUR GmbH, which develops almost all the basic technologies for the group. Other German development studios, such as MEGA and edict eGaming GmbH (edict), are responsible for game development. MEGA primarily creates jackpot systems, multigames, and games with additional bets. Edict first licenses the online games for different jurisdictions and then releases them for various online platforms. In the international environment, development studios in the United Kingdom, Austria, India, Australia, Spain and Malta strengthen the capabilities of the MERKUR GROUP. The teams there specialize in developing games and applications for both land-based and online markets.

Multigamer or Singlegames?

The MERKUR GROUP's product portfolio is focused on multigamers, but there are also countries where customers prefer prolonged entertainment through a single game. For these markets, special single games are offered, whose development is very elaborate as they contain significantly more graphics and hidden gimmicks. To meet these customer needs as well, the expertise of the MERKUR GROUP is distributed across worldwide development studios – for instance in Las Vegas.
