German Coin-Op Museum

The German Coin-Op museum at Schloss Benkhausen exhibits a unique private collection of historical coin-operated machines belonging to the Gauselmann entrepreneurial family. The collection has been growing since 1985 and includes exhibits from all over the world.

Visitors to the museum are presented with approximately 200 historical exhibits that are either part of the permanent collection or temporary special exhibitions. These exhibits provide not only an insight into the technical development and diverse design elements, but also into the history of coin-op machines and their relevance to society.

Whether it’s chocolate vending machines, fortune telling machines, one-armed bandits, music boxes, pinball machines, gaming machines or pneumatic keyboards, all of these coin-operated machines are still incredibly alluring today and bring true delight to both young and old.
